Here's a taste of these islands that await you:

Honolulu, Hawaii

Home to nearly half a million people, Honolulu is Hawaii's state capital and only major city. The city of Honolulu and the island of Oahu offer a wealth of historic, cultural and scenic attractions. Beyond the city lie tropical rain forests, the lush Pali Lookout and the North Shore known for its excellent surfing beaches.

Maui (Lahaina), Hawaii

Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian Islands and it holds a special place in Hawaiian history. The great warrior, King Kamehameha, who united the islands under his rule, chose to make Lahaina his capital. And no wonder, Maui boasts some of the world's most superb beaches and dramatic mountain landscapes. In Maui, you can witness humpback whales navigating the warm blue waters off the coast, go snorkeling alongside green sea turtles and rainbow-colored fish in the bay or shop 'til you drop in Old Lahaina — there's always something to do on Maui.

Hilo, Hawaii

The "Big Island" of Hawaii is the youngest and largest of the Hawaiian Islands, and the most varied in landscape—with striking black sand beaches and green sand beaches, tropical rain forests, ancient Hawaii heiau ruins, alpine terrain, and surreal lava rock landscapes. Hilo, the eastern side's port city is where the seat of the Big Island's government resides and it is a launching point for the myriad of Big Island attractions.

Kona, Hawaii

Youngest and largest by far of the Hawaiian Islands, the "Big Island," is still growing, with active Kilauea Volcano belting out molten lava into the sea. The lava rock landscapes of the countryside are eerily beautiful, as are the resulting black-sand beaches and green-sand beaches. Hawaii's terrain ranges from tropical beaches to the alpine crags and basalt heights of an active volcano. The Kona Coast, on the western side of the island, is a land of infinite variety, ranging from pristine beaches to rolling uplands that are home to coffee plantations, macadamia groves and the largest privately owned cattle ranch in the United States. To the southeast lies Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, and Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes in the world.

Kauai (Nawiliwili), Hawaii

The fourth largest and oldest island in the Hawaiian group, Kauai is known as the "Garden Isle" simply due to its incredible lushness. Kauai's terrain ranges from the volcanic slopes of Mt. Waialeale and the desert-like beauty of Waimea Canyon to the Wailua River's lush Fern Grotto. Explore Kauai from its lush green valleys, cascading waterfalls and geological wonders, such as the dramatic Nă Pali Coastline. The natural beauty doesn't stop at the shoreline, the Garden Isle's white-sand beaches and aquamarine waters are showstoppers as well.
