He is one of the most requested speakers in the credit union industry and has spoken before thousands of credit union volunteers and management teams during his 20-year career. John has facilitated countless credit union strategic planning sessions around the world. An international trend watcher, he also helps leaders synthesize credit union industry trends into strategic organizational directions. He is the author of Leadership Thoughts for Prospering in the 21st Century.

DAVID WILSON is owner and manager of CU Market Research of Chattanooga, TN. He has conducted completely customized market research projects for credit union clients for over 19 years, working with credit union clients whose assets range from $20 million to more than $2 billion.

David earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 1971 and has worked in marketing and communications ever since. He received extensive training in customer satisfaction market research through the Burke Marketing Institute. His broad consultative experience with credit unions since the mid-1970s provides the basis for his specialization in credit union market research.

Until January, 2001, David conducted market research projects within his responsibilities at the Tennessee Credit Union League. At that point, David purchased the business. He continues his League work, lobbying the Tennessee General Assembly on behalf of credit unions.

David works with credit union clients across the nation, helping management and the marketing department use member feedback as a valuable tool in the decision-making process.

DOUG KEY is the CEO of Mutual Savings Credit Union, located in Birmingham, Alabama.  Doug began his association with credit unions as a collections employee for Iron & Steel Workers Credit Union (now America’s First) in 1967. With the encouragement of the President of Iron & Steel Workers CU he began law school, finishing and passing the bar and starting his 37 year legal practice in 1974.  During that time Doug worked as legal counsel, in various areas with many credit unions in Alabama including Mutual Savings.

Doug’s association with Mutual Savings began in the early 80’s when he was hired to assist in helping the credit union get out of NCUA conservatorship.  He continued his practice and credit union associations through September 2009, when he was asked by the Administrator of the Alabama Credit Union Administration to assist MSCU again because of conservatorship.  But this time Doug was asked to come aboard as the credit union’s new CEO.  Since that time, with the help of a seasoned and dedicated staff, and loyal membership, Mutual Savings Credit Union has made considerable progress toward total recovery.
