Copenhagen, Denmark

The Little Mermaid greets you at the harbor. At its center is Tivoli, whose gardens, lakes and fountains are said to have inspired Walt Disney.

ALIGN=Default

Oslo, Norway

Spotless and sophisticated, Oslo brims with sights, from Thor Heyerdahl's Kon-Tiki to the open-air Norsk Folkemuseum. Sample shore excursion: Oslo City Tour & Viking Ships.

ALIGN=Default

Alesund, Norway

This picturesque fishing port at the mouth of Stor Fjord spans two islands and features delightful art nouveau architecture — stone towers, spires and medieval façades.

ALIGN=Default

Vik, Norway

Vik, nestled on a bay of the Sognefjord, features a 12th-century stave church where Christian architecture meets Nordic paganism, and neither has quite given up all notion of winning the other over. Behind this quaint fishing village, mountains rise rapidly for spectacular views of the fjord, the village and the surroundings.

ALIGN=Default

Stavanger, Norway

Cobblestone streets wind past colorful houses in this delightful town. In nearby Lysefjord, be sure to visit oft-photographed Pulpit Rock

ALIGN=Default

Newcastle Upon Tyne, England

From Earl Grey's Monument, stroll Grey Street and enjoy its fine Georgian architecture - including the impressive Theatre Royal. The Castle Keep is on the site of an 11th century 'New Castle' built by William the Conqueror's son.   Don’t miss Blackfriars, a 13th century Dominican monastery - and Hadrian's Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and perhaps the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. Tour its forts and turrets or simply walk a span of it through the magnificent countryside.

ALIGN=Default

S Queensferry (Edinburgh), Uk

Your jumping-off point for the highlights of Edinburgh, including historic Edinburgh Castle, housing the Scottish crown jewels and the palace that was once home to Mary Queen of Scots.

ALIGN=Default

Invergordon, Scotland

The skirl of Highland bagpipes calls you ashore. Go in search of your clan tartan, and "Nessie," the spurious monster often sighted in Loch Ness.
